$917 per person per year
Nearly $10,000 per person over 10 years
That's the amount of federal funding at stake in the Nevada 2010 Census...
...that's money for our schools, hospitals, traffic safety
and other important community programs.
That's why Secretary of State Ross Miller
is leading the outreach effort to make sure WE ALL COUNT.
There are many reasons why it's important for Nevadans to participate in the 2010 Census.
These are just a few:
-
Nevada communities deserve to get all the federal funding they’ve earned for education, healthcare, and traffic safety. See the official estimate here. Those federal funds can go to work creating more jobs for Nevadans.Money Nevada deserves shouldn’t go to California or New York or Texasbecause those states did a better job of counting their people.
-
Nevadans deserve all of the representation in Congress and all of the Presidential electoral votes they’ve earned.
-
Nevada must meet the special challenge of counting everyone – including people who are temporarily displaced from their homes.
-
2010 Census results are completely confidential…the Census Bureau is prohibited by law from sharing the information with anyone, including other federal agencies.
-
Our founding fathers embedded the Census in the United States Constitution…it’s our civic duty to participate.
WE ALL COUNT!
